With so many kids being home-schooled right now, there is an increasing demand from parents to filter inappropriate web content coming into the home.

Blocking adult content, such as extreme violence and pornography, is known as web filtering, and this article should give you some quick wins at keeping your kids and family safe online.

Google Safe Search

Google remains one of the most popular search engines, and they have embedded a useful feature called ‘Safe Search’. When enabled, Safe Search works by filtering our searches for explicit content, including web searches, images, and videos. It does only work on Google search results, and you must log in to your account with the feature enabled to work effectively.

OpenDNS Family Shield

OpenDNS Family Shield is an online service currently run by Cisco and works by looking at the requests your browser makes when trying to connect to a website.
